Process of Manufacturing Sanganeri Print Saree If you’ve ever seen or purchased a saree with a sanganeri print, you’ll know how appealing and pleasant the designs are. Have you ever considered how much time and skill goes into creating a sanganeri print saree? The technique of creating these sarees is both fascinating and intriguing.

We, as manufacturers of sanganeri print sarees, have attempted to describe our saree-making process. The steps in the procedure are as follows:

Process of Manufacturing Sanganeri Print Saree

Washing

We begin by cleaning the cloth to remove any dust or starch, which is necessary in order to produce the greatest printing results. For 1-2 days, the cloth is soaked in a solution of water and bleach. The cloth is then boiled and washed before being dried. This section usually takes 3-6 days, depending on weather conditions, and we all know how harsh Rajasthan’s weather can be.

Marking and Printing

The fabric is first laid out on a table and tacked to it, after which the print locations are indicated. We also draw lines around the places where the stitches and incisions will be made. Also determined and marked is the distance between the two prints.

We utilise both wooden and metal blocks for printing. Initially, only wooden blocks were used in printing since metal blocks offer a more exact, intricate, and delicate print; they are now the most commonly used and are also more expensive than wooden blocks. After dipping the block in the colour, the printer stamps it on the cloth. The printer uses his fist to press down firmly on the handle to ensure that the colour of the prints is consistent. The number of blocks in a saree is determined by the amount of colours utilised. The outer border is printed first, followed by the inside designs. For sarees, the pallu is printed first, followed by the borders. Chapaai is the name given to this technique.

Traditional vs Modern saree designs

In designing our sarees, we sought to blend both traditional and modern designs. We also produce sarees out of various materials that can be worn for any occasion. Previously, these sarees were only available in white or beige, with printing in colours that were naturally available to printers, but now they are available in a wide range of hues.

Drying– After printing, the saree is exposed to the sun to dry and set the colour. We must handle the sarees with extreme caution, otherwise the colours may spread to other parts of the room.

Washing– The final step in the sanganeri print saree process is to wash the saree. These sarees are steam-pressed in special containers. This technique uses a lot of water, and the saree is then dried in the sun again. The saree is next pressed to ensure that the colour is securely fixed. This technique also ensures that white materials do not have any colour smudges on them; if they do, the smudges are washed away and the fabric becomes clean white.

We make certain that our customers receive the highest quality product at a reasonable price.
