Chunri Saree

Chunri sarees which are also known as bandhej sarees or chunri sarees originate from Gujarat and Rajasthan and typically mean a traditional form of tie-and-dye where the thread is tied all over the six-yard staple and then dyed as per the motifs required. Typically this form of tie and dye is possible only on cotton and silk materials and therefore these sarees are also found in these materials. These kind of sarees have different names in different regions of Gujarat such as bandhej sarees, chunri sarees and so on. There are many variations of the Chunri saree such as the Jodhpuri Chunri, Gujarati Chunri, embroidered or paired with gota patti. These kind of sarees are usually found in some of the most vibrant hues such as rich reds, gorgeous greens, blissful blues, pretty purples and happy yellows. you will find not only designer Chunri sarees but also affordable iterations of this type of saree in our Chunri saree collection.
