Casual Kurtis When you think of the kurti, what do you think of?
There is no wrong answer here! These are such versatile and practical items that they can be worn to nearly any kind of event and by any kind of person. You have your traditional, long kurtas, with their beautiful embroidery. Then you have your modern kurtis with their bold patterns. Or how about silk kurtis that are beautiful touch, chiffon kurtis that are ideal for the office, or kurtis with interesting asymmetric designs?

Whatever you choose, the kurti is an item that is sure to be useful in a range of scenarios and that is a joy to wear. As mentioned, kurtis can be traditional with their embroidered patterns, or they can be modern with bold patterns. Either way, it’s great to wear something that feels stylish while still being incredibly comfortable and lightweight! And because you’re layered, you can always disrobe as you get too hot, or add more layers if you should feel cold.

Did you know in fact that kurtis were originally intended to be largely casual items? While we might picture the longer, embroidered type often, the original kurti was a plain item that was often worn by poets, writers, and others. The kurti was also originally very unique for the fact that it wasn’t restricted to a certain region within India, or a certain type of person.
